The Beginning

It started with film. Actual film.

In 1978, while most people were discovering disco, we were learning to edit 16mm film by hand. Splicing. Timing. Learning that every frame matters and nothing is accidental. We were cutting footage in government facilities, working on projects that required precision, discipline, and an understanding that the work speaks for itself.

That foundationâ”the tactile reality of physical media, the patience of the darkroom, the unforgiving nature of film that couldn't be "undone"â”shaped everything that came after. When video arrived, we learned video. When digital arrived, we learned digital. When the web arrived, we taught ourselves to code. When AI arrived, we didn't panic. We did what we've always done: we learned.

Today, we write code with AI assistance the same way we once spliced film: with intention, with craft, and with the understanding that technology serves the visionâ”never the other way around. We've built platforms for enterprises you've heard of. We've written screenplays. We've shot photographs and produced videos. We've done things that don't fit neatly into categories, because we've never fit neatly into categories ourselves.
